LARSON MARKS RACING VENTURES TO A PAIR OF STATES IN TWO DAYS

(April 20, 2017)

TWICE AS NICE: After returning to their home shop in Mooresville, N.C. for the week, Larson Marks Racing heads back out on the road for two races this weekend with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. Driver Shane Stewart and team will be at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., on Friday night, followed up by Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., on Saturday.

FIRST TIMERS: Friday’s Bull Ring Outlaw Blitz will be the Larson Marks Racing team’s first trip to Riverside International Speedway. It will also be the World of Outlaws’ first visit back to the high-banked quarter-mile since 2009.

STEWART AT RIVERSIDE: Despite being a new track for LMR, Stewart has some experience at the bullring. He has raced at the track once with the World of Outlaws and earned at 12th-place finish. The Bixby, Okla., native has also competed with the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, earning his best result in 2010 with a third-place finish at the Rock ‘N Roll 50.

PEVELY RETURN: In the last five visits to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55, the LMR team has never finished outside of the top-10. In 2015, Stewart advanced 10 spots in the Spring Classic to earn a seventh-place finish. Later that year, he swept the Prelude to the Ironman and the Ironman 55. Last year after the Spring Classic was cancelled as a result of rain, LMR returned in August to finish sixth in the Prelude to the Ironman and claimed a podium finish in the Ironman 55.

LARSON MARKS RACING OWNERS: Larson Marks Racing is co-owned by NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series (NMECS) driver Kyle Larson and IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Series driver Justin Marks. Marks also owns GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, N.C. Larson will be doing double-duty at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn., competing in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NMECS races this weekend.

LARSON MARKS RACING TEAM: The Larson Marks Racing team is led by crew chief Bob Curtis of Warrensburg, Mo., with Heath Moyle of Middleburg, Penn., and Dennis Christ of Fredericksburg, Penn.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following Saturday night’s race at Federated Auto Parts Raceway, Larson Marks Racing will be back in action on Friday, April 28 at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway.
