Former Knoxville Nationals winner in Casey’s General Stores car on World of Outlaws tour

CONCORD, N.C. — Feb. 4, 2011 — Plenty of drivers are looking forward to the 40th Annual DIRTcar Nationals by University of Northwestern Ohio beginning Feb. 8 at Volusia Speedway Park. Count Kraig Kinser among them.

The 2005 Knoxville Nationals champion and son of 20-time champion Steve Kinser moves from a family-owned car into the storied Lonnie Parsons-owned #6 Casey’s General Stores Sprint Car for the upcoming season.

“It’s great to partner with Lonnie and the entire Casey’s team,” said an excited Kinser. “They’ve always run very strong and I’m excited and honored to get to drive for them.”

Kraig Kinser has nine World of Outlaws victories in his career and finished the 2010 campaign with eight Top 5’s and 30 Top 10’s. For 2011, the Parsons Motorsports team will run a Maxim chassis powered by Kistler Engines.

A native of Bloomington, Ind., Kraig Kinser used the off-season to relax and spend time with his son, Kash. As nice as the down-time has been, Kinser is ready to tackle the high-speed, half-mile Volusia Speedway Park oval.

“I’m ready to get down there and get back to racing,” Kinser said. “It’s very important to get off to a good start at Volusia.”

A fast start can build a solid foundation for the rest of the season.

“We want to run quick and make sure we have a good feel for the car,” Kinser said. “If we can put those things together, everything will take care of itself.”

Tickets to see Kinser and the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series compete in the 40th DIRTcar Nationals by UNOH at Volusia Speedway Park can be purchased online at www.WorldofOutlaws.com/tickets or by calling 386-985-4402. The racing action at Volusia kicks off on Tuesday (Feb. 8) with the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars waving the green flag on the season Friday (Feb. 11), Saturday (Feb. 12) and Sunday (Feb. 13).
