The 2023-24 iRacing World of Outlaws Thrustmaster Sprint Car Series takes the top ranked dirt oval competition to the middle of Pennsylvania, namely Mechanicsburg, for the third race of the 2023-24 season at Williams Grove Speedway. So far in this season, Alex Bergeron has been untouchable, winning both feature races at Volusia and Weedsport and leading the rankings.

The action starts on Monday night, November 27, at 9PM ET, live on both DIRTVision and iRacing’s social media channels.

Last Race: Back at Weedsport a week ago, Alex Bergeron continued his hot start with a second straight victory in as many races. While it was Hayden Cardwell, Logan Rumsey, and Shawn English at the front at Volusia, Weedsport featured a whole different group of challengers for Bergeron to take on. After getting past Braden Eyler for the second heat win, Bergeron bested both defending champion Tyler Schell and polesitter Tanner Pettit for the win in the caution-free feature. Bergeron now leads Pettit by 30 points after two races.

Last Season: While Cardwell failed to transfer to the Weedsport feature last week, he still can look forward to the fact that he’s the defending winner at Williams Grove Speedway last December. It was his second win in a row that season, defeating Eyler, the previous Williams Grove winner, to do so. Eyler fought from down the running order to get to second, passing Timothy Smith late in the race to get there, but Cardwell was dominant, leading every lap in the single-caution event.

Track Info: Williams Grove Speedway is a 1/2-mile clay oval in Mechanicsburg, PA, and it has hosted nearly every type of dirt racing series and car imaginable since opening in 1939. The premier racing facility hosts many prestigious events at both the national and local level of dirt racing, including the $75,000-to-win National Open, one of the highest-paying events in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car ranks.

Race Format: These races feature qualifying and heat racing to determine the 20 drivers that will compete in the main race. There will be four heat races of 10 laps each, where the top four will advance forward through to the main event. There will also be two 12-lap consolation races where the top two finishers in each will move on. In the 35-lap feature races, caution laps do not count. This is the first Sprint Car season since iRacing’s Dirt Refresh was launched in June.

Next Up: About 20 miles south of Williams Grove Speedway is another historic dirt track that hosts the Pennsylvania Posse, Lincoln Speedway. Added as new content for the 2023 Season 1 build,  the 3/8-mile clay oval in Abbottstown made its debut on the 2022-23 Sprint Cars schedule just weeks later with the inaugural event won by Kenny Miller.
