Pittman, Johnson and Stewart React to the News of Craftsman Joining the World of Outlaws as Title Sponsor
CONCORD, N.C. – Feb. 4, 2016 – On Monday, the World of Outlaws and Craftsman®, America’s most trusted tool brand, announced a three-title sponsorship agreement for both Outlaws series.
As the news spread, World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series drivers reacted to the news of the new partner for the 2016 season and beyond.
Jason Johnson, the 2015 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year award winner, said the news was sensational for the sport.
“It is going to be a great building block for the World of Outlaws as well as Craftsman,” Johnson said. “We have Craftsman tools in our workshop because they are a great product and very affordable. This partnership will make us both stronger by branding the product with the teams, then passing that along to the fans. I think with the market we offer, it will be a great branding opportunity for them…when you want to watch elite racing, you watch us, and when you want an elite tool you choose Craftsman, so it’s very fitting.”
Daryn Pittman, the 2013 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion, echoed Johnson.
“Anytime you can associate a nationwide brand with our series then it is a great deal,” Pittman said. “It’s a great fit and hopefully they will see how loyal our fans are and they will get a good return on their investment. It’s a great time to be a part of our series, and its great news for our sport as a whole. I’m excited to see how things go.”
Shane Stewart, who finished second in the championship standings last season, said the news was exciting.
“I can probably vouch for almost every Outlaws team has some sort of Craftsman tool or they utilize Craftsman in the shop – I know that we do here at LMR. It’s really cool to see,” Stewart said. “Brand loyalty is massive in our industry and there are a lot of people that go to our sprint car races that use Craftsman tools. I think with the correlation between the two of them, you’ll see a lot of success.”
