While most of the country enjoyed the Labor Day weekend, Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team were busy at work on Monday continuing a busy stretch of 9 races in 13 days along the West Coast.  The site for action was Willamette Speedway as the World of Outlaws made their inaugural visit to the 1/3-mile and their lone appearance of the season in Oregon.

After getting a feel for the facility in hotlaps, Dollansky was the 22nd car to qualify among the 24 signed in and posted the 11th fastest time.  Making the twelve car inversion of three heats then put the MobileStar #7 on the pole for heat #2.  In the 8-lap race Dollansky missed the setup a bit and fell to 3rd at the finish, missing the dash race for the first time since early August.

In the 30-lap A-Main the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim lined up outside row six on the starting grid.  When the green flag waved on the main event ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ motored up to ninth on the first lap and then battled with Steve Kinser until the first caution on lap 5.  Following another yellow seven circuits later, the Elk River, Minnesota native continued to hold position until moving up a spot by lap 24.  Once in eighth Dollansky advanced one spot better in the final six circuits crossing the finish line in 7th.

“We went out second to last to qualify and had our car too free for going out that late and were the same in the heat,” commented Dollansky.  “Come feature time we got our car more in the game and passed some good cars but thirty laps went pretty quick on that little place.”

Up next for the Big Game Treestands #7 team of DJ Lindsey, Luke Dollansky, Pete Stephens, and Sean Michael is the three-day 59th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California beginning this Thursday, September 6th.
