The first of two visits to Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in New York was next up for Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team on Wednesday as they returned to the 5/8-mile track for the first time since a runner-up performance on October 8th of last year.
Making his 12th appearance that included 5 finishes in the top-five, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ began the night by stopping the clock at 16.436 seconds on his second qualifying lap, good enough for 3rd among the 26 cars assembled. Heat #3 saw the MobileStar Maxim start outside row two and finish 4th to transfer into the dash. In the 6-lap dash an inversion of six put Dollansky outside row two where he bettered his starting position for the main event by one.
In the 25-lap A-Main the Aggressive Hydraulics backed sprinter started inside of two and ran fourth by the completion of the first lap. In fourth before the first caution on the ninth circuit, Dollansky worked the highside on the restart to try pass Chad Kemenah but couldn’t make it stick. After running third by another stoppage on lap 17, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ made the highside stick motored the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products #7 past Kemenah and into second. One final caution with two laps to go set up a green-white-checkered double-file restart but Paul McMahan maintained his lead and Dollansky crossed the checkers in 2nd to record his second straight runner-up finish at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park.
“We had a good qualifying effort but didn’t feel real good in the heat race and did some work for the dash and got a little bit better for the feature,” commented the Elk River, Minnesota driver. “Paul drove a heck of a race and it was fun racing with Chad. My guys DJ and Luke did a great job but my hat is off to Paul McMahan and his race team.”
The Big Game Treestands #7 team will now head to Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York where World of Outlaws action resumes on Saturday.
