Ironman 55 at Pevely Postponed for Dollansky

Fans,
Fans,

Known for action-packed racing all over, I-55 Raceway is one of the best stops on the World of Outlaws schedule and in the past several years has also become one of the best tracks for Craig Dollansky.  Since 2002, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ has recorded 12 top-fives that include 7 runner-ups and 3 victories among the 16 events contested.  On Saturday the current World of Outlaws point leader returned to the track in Pevely, Missouri now known as Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 as the Big Game Treestands #7 team looked to defend the grueling 55-lap ‘Ironman 55’.

With 30 drivers signed in for action at the 1/3-mile, the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim was the last car to qualify and made it a strong one stopping the clock at 10th fastest.  Making the twelve car inversion meant Dollansky would line up on the pole for heat #1 where he powered into the lead and raced to his ninth heat victory of the season.  An inversion of six then put Dollansky outside row four where he advanced two positions in the 8-lap event.

With threatening weather approaching, the race program was hurried along and cars pushed off for the 55-lap A-Main with the MobileStar #7 starting outside row three.  Unfortunately just as the field was lining up rain descended on the facility and officials were forced to postpone the feature due to more severe weather on the way.

The Ironman 55 feature will now be run in conjunction with the full World of Outlaws program on Saturday, October 13th which is a make-up race from the event rained out earlier this season in April.

The Big Game Treestands #7 team will now travel back to the race shop in Princeton, Minnesota as they prepare for the biggest four day stretch of the season, the 52nd Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa beginning on Wednesday.
