Back at Fremont: Kraig Kinser Returns to Ohio Bullring this Weekend

Fans,
Fans,

Granger, IA—Oct. 12, 2011— It’s certainly been a while since Kraig Kinser has raced at Fremont Speedway and it’s been even longer since the World of Outlaws last took to the high-banked one-third-mile bullring. Kinser last raced at Fremont in 2003, and it was a decade before that, when the World of Outlaws last set a tire on the Northern Ohio oval.

The series will return Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 15 for a full racing program with a 40-lap main event to cap off the night, as just five nights and four feature events remain on the 2011 calendar.

Kinser made his debut at Fremont on July 3, 2001 during Ohio Speedweek with the All Star Circuit of Champions, turning the 10th fastest lap in time trials that night.  He returned to the track on Sept. 6, 2003 for another race with the All Stars, recording the 11th fastest lap in qualifying with a very strong 52-car field in attendance. Kinser has raced in five feature events in Ohio this season with the World of Outlaws, with four of those coming at the famed Eldora Speedway, along with a start at Attica Raceway Park.

The driver of the Casey’s General Store Maxim heads to Fremont after finishing13th last Saturday night at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y. in an event run in conjunction with Super Dirt Week XL, following a 16th-place run in the Morgan Hughes National Open at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. last Friday night.

The native of Bloomington, Ind. enters the event at Fremont eighth in the World of Outlaws championship standings on the strength of 21 Top-10 finishes, to go along with five Top-Five performances including a win, as he continues his first season driving for the Parsons Motorsports team.

Kraig on Fremont Speedway:

“It’s always fun to go back to a track like Fremont where you haven’t been for a while. There are great fans up in that part of Ohio and the car counts around there are usually very strong. That’s a track where things happen in a hurry and you kind of have to be patient if that’s possible on a small track and you to try to keep your nose clean to be around at the end. We’ve had some good runs on the smaller tracks this year including the win at Cottage Grove, so we should have a good baseline when we get to Fremont.”
