48th Annual World 100 Friday Prelim Night Rained Out at Eldora Speedway, Moved to Saturday Morning
ROSSBURG, OH—Oct. 12, 2018 — The 48 annual World 100 was set to resume after a delay of five weeks and a day with the second of two Prelim Nights at the famed half-mile high-banked dirt oval of Eldora Speedway (OH), located just east of the Indiana/Ohio state line in Rossburg, OH on Friday, October 12. Unfortunately, Mother Nature once again had other ideas, forcing DIRTcar and track officials to postpone the Friday Prelim Night to Saturday morning, October 13. With the postponement, it creates a doubleheader Saturday at the famed Buckeye State oval.
77 cars went through Safety and Technical Inspection and the Drivers Meeting was concluded when the rains came in. As for Doubleheader Saturday, bright and early on Saturday morning, October 13, Pit Gates open at 9:00a.m., with the mandatory Drivers Meeting at the Stage set for 10:00 a.m. Then at 10:30 a.m., Hot Laps will start, followed immediately by Group Qualifying. Once those are complete, Racing is set to begin as soon as possible in order to get the show in and give teams plenty of time to work on their cars for the regularly scheduled final night of the “Granddaddy of them all.” After a quick scan of the Pit Area for Pit Passes, the day will reset with starting times for Saturday remaining the same (subject to change) with Racing starting at 7:00p.m.
