CONCORD, NC — Aug. 1, 2018 — Late Model driver Ricky Weiss was disqualified, fined, and put on probation for unsportsmanlike conduct at Shawano Speedway on July 31, including, but not limited too, approaching a race car in the pit area with intentions of starting an altercation. The altercation resulted in contact from the competitor to the fellow driver.

Section 2 – Membership 2.2 Conduct
A.) General – All Members agree to act in a professional manner as determined by World of Outlaws Late Model Series Officials. The professional manner includes, but is not limited to verbal representation, social media, text messages, written representation, any representation that may represent the sport of racing and/or motorsports in general and/or any affiliates.
11.1 Penalties and Fine Schedules
J. Any member involved in an altercation that results in physical contact will be subject to disqualification and/or fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points and/or any other action deemed appropriate by World of Outlaws Late Model Series Officials.
Event and explanation: Unsportsmanlike conduct including, but not limited too, approaching a race car in the pit area with intentions of starting an altercation. The altercation resulted in contact from the competitor to the fellow driver.
Penalty / Fine: A fine of $500. Driver was disqualified from the event with no pay or points (SERVED). Additionally, be placed on probation for the remainder of the 2018 racing season. Any subsequent violations may result in a higher fine schedule and/or suspension (including indefinite) and/or parking of the team.
As provided in the Appeal Section of the rule book Section 12 and posted online, members in good standing have the right to appeal the decision to the World of Outlaws Appeals Commission.
