Round five of the 2023 iRacing World of Outlaws ButtKicker Late Model Series sees 35 of the world’s best virtual dirt racers continue their fight for a $25,000 championship purse at Knoxville Raceway. As always, Monday’s action can be seen live starting at 9p.m. (ET) on DIRTVision and at twitch.tv/iracing.

Last Race: Even though his teammate Blake Matjoulis has kept it close so far, Evan Seay remains the driver to beat after taking his second win of 2023 in the series’ inaugural visit to Port Royal Speedway—even though he had to do it from ninth on the grid this time out. Kendal Tucker led from pole early before Logan Rumsey got past after the first caution, but Matjoulis initiated a slider battle with Rumsey after the final caution that enabled Seay to catch and eventually get past them both.

Last Year: Seay took his third win of the 2022 campaign at Knoxville last year, but it wasn’t the walk in the park that some of his other wins were. Tucker led the early stages from pole before Dylon Wilson made his way past, but when Seay made his way into the battle, a close fight between the trio gave the eventual series champion just what he needed to take the lead for good.

Track Facts: Knoxville Raceway opened in 1878 as a horse racing track, but it’s been hosting auto racing since the early 1900s. The half-mile Zook clay oval hosts the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car Series twice each season. Its premier sprint car event, the Knoxville Nationals, has been a staple of the sport since 1961, and will crown a new winner after four days of action on August 9-12.

Next Race: Following Knoxville, the iRacing World of Outlaws ButtKicker Late Model Series heads to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 to kick off the second half of the season on Monday, August 14. Matjoulis triumphed at I-55 last year, taking his second win of the season in a close battle with Seay in the final laps.
