Bio

Darrell Lanigan is among the most decorated Late Model drivers in the history of the sport. A three-time World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion, second on the all-time Series wins list, 2003 Dirt Late Model Dream winner, 2012 USA Nationals winner, 2014 Firecracker 100 champion… the list goes on.

The Bluegrass Bandit, as he’s also known, founded and operated Club 29 Chassis, fabricating his own performance Late Model frames until its cease of production in 2019.

An original “Dirty Dozen” member of the World of Outlaws Late Models, Lanigan spent much of his professional career aboard the full-time Outlaw roster until presented with the opportunity to drive for NASCAR veteran Clint Bowyer’s Late Model team in 2015. He stayed with Bowyer Dirt through 2018, until the two decided to part ways, bringing Lanigan back into full-time Outlaw competition for 2019 where he broke through for his first tour victory in over four years at Selinsgrove Speedway and finished fifth in the overall points standings.

At the conclusion of his 2019 campaign, Lanigan struck a groundbreaking deal with legendary chassis builder Barry Wright to take over the reins of his house car program and return to the World of Outlaws for 2020 with the help of Pennsylvania-native Shawn Martin of Viper Motorsports. Together, the three forces hit the road with the Outlaws in search of Lanigan’s fourth Series title.
