The iRacing World of Outlaws ButtKicker Late Model Series season continues tonight with a visit to Rossburg, Ohio’s famous Eldora Speedway. As always, the action can be seen live at 9PM ET on and DirtVision.

Last Race: For the second week in a row, it was a former series champion on top of the box ahead of Evan Seay when the checkered flag flew last Monday at Cedar Lake Speedway. In the opener from Fairbury, it had been 2020 series champion Hayden Cardwell; this time, it was Seay’s teammate, 2019 champion Blake Matjoulis, who led every lap and withstood the pressure of half a dozen cautions to score his first victory of the season.

Heat winner Dezmond Busby would round out the podium, while Dylan Yeager—Matjoulis’ toughest challenger earlier in the night, as the two would swap the lead corner by corner for a few laps in the middle of the race—and Kendal Tucker would complete the top five. Seay would walk out of Cedar Lake with a one-point championship advantage over Matjoulis, with Tucker, Yeager, and Fairbury polesitter Damian Kiefer rounding out the top five in the standings.

Track Info: American race fans who have recently fallen in love with dirt racing probably learned about it in part thanks to Eldora Speedway. The half-mile Ohio oval is a natural starting point for newcomers, thanks to Tony Stewart’s ownership of the track and the additional marquee events that have visited it in response. But the World of Outlaws has long dominated the slate of sprint car and late model events at Eldora, with legendary events like the Kings Royal and Historical Big One. Next Week: Following Eldora, the iRacing World of Outlaws ButtKicker Late Model Series visits another legendary half-mile oval in Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway. In 2020, Devon Morgan took the checkered flag here by more than two seconds over Cardwell to earn the victory. The track welcomes the real-world World of Outlaws Late Models on August 19 and Sprint Cars at the end of September.
