Bio
One of the greatest drivers to touch the racetrack with a dirt Late Model, Scott Bloomquist is the 2004 World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion and is heavily regarded as one of the most successful Late Model drivers with more than 500 Feature wins throughout his career.
Bloomquist conquered marquee events throughout his illustrious career like the Dirt Late Model Dream, World 100, Gopher 50, Firecracker 100, DIRTcar Nationals, and the USA Nationals. While "Black Sunshine" was inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in 2002, the Tennessee icon continued to compete at a high level across the generations of Late Model racing since 1984.
Bloomquist tragically passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 in a plane crash near his home in Mooresburg, TN. His legacy remains impactful to the world of motorsports and is forever remembered for his iconic performances in the biggest events and the infectious personality he shared with competitors and race fans alike.
