Bio
Rick "Boom" Briggs, a native of Bear Lake, Pennsylvania, has achieved significant success in the Northeastern Late Model circuits. He grew up alongside his cousin and Dirt Late Model hall-of-famer Chub Frank, whose father founded and previously operated the Stateline and Eriez speedways.
Boom established his racing team during the mid-1990s and experienced great success. However, he had to cease operations after getting married. Despite this, his passion for racing never diminished, and he soon returned to the sport. In 2004, he joined Chub on his road crew, assisting in their chase of the Series' rebirth tour.
In 2005, Boom took over the driving duties of his father's racing team after a father had a health scare. He has since followed in his father's and Chub's footsteps, racing locally until deciding to attempt the national tour in 2014.
Boom is set to return in 2023 as an Outlaw, piloting a Rocket Chassis alongside teammate Max Blair. He aims to achieve his first World of Outlaws Late Models victory and continue his legacy as a respected figure in the Northeastern Late Model circuits. With his vast experience and passion for the sport, Boom is sure to be a fierce competitor and a fan favorite in the upcoming season.
