Semmelmann Rules at Eldora

Austen Semmelmann had a few anxious moments – but not many — in scoring a flag-to-flag victory in iRacing’s weekly World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series feature at Eldora Speedway. After grabbing the pole position and comfortably leading the first two-thirds of the race from Tim Ryan, Steven Renaud and Howard Weaver, the Wisconsin-based sim racer looked to be in complete control before a Lap 24 caution left him some work to do on the restart.

Seavey Becomes First iRacing Champ

The One and Only

By David Phillips

There can only be one first-time champion of a racing series. Ever. In the case of iRacing’s World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, the one and only first champion is (and forever will be) Logan Seavey. The Californian dominated the early rounds of the season with wins at the virtual Volusia, Eldora and USA International speedways and then cruised to title, skipping the last few weeks of sim racing in order to pursue his “day job” in real racing – competing in real world Midget cars.

Holley Goes Flag-to Flag at Volusia

By: David Phillips

Kevin J. Holley ran off a flag-to-flag win at Volusia Park Speedway in Week 7 of the iRacing World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. Having bolted to a comfortable lead in the early stages of the race, Holley came under attack from Logan Seavey in the wake of several cautions. But Holley nailed the final restart with three laps remaining to seal the deal from Seavey with Alex Bergeron completing a race-long charge from 11th to third place.

Seavey Goes Green to Checkers at USA International

By: David Phillips

Logan Seavey went green to checkers at USA International Speedway on Monday night to win the weekly iRacing World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series feature. Although he may have led all 25 laps, Seavey didn’t have it easy. Second fastest qualifier Christopher Bell shadowed Seavey throughout the race and was in position to steal the win when the field came down to a restart on Lap 20 following the night’s one and only caution. But Seavey had matters under control and bolted clear of Bell at the green to motor to a .229s win.

Unlike the first two places, third spot was up for grab most of the the race as Stephen Moore battling four time Chili Bowl Nationals champion Kevin Swindell. The pair traded places several times at the line – and many more times elsewhere – but Swindell got a great restart to secure the position, while Moore slipped to fifth behind Adam Elby who completed his charge from his ninth place starting spot.

Seavey Battles to Eldora Win

By: David Phillips

Logan Seavey came out on top of a four way battle to take the iRacing.com World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series tilt at Eldora Speedway on Monday.  Seavey grabbed the pole position from Christopher Bell, Mike McKinney and Kevin J. Holley, jumped to the lead at the start and led comfortably if not handily through most of the race.  But with five laps remaining Bell forced his way past and a lap later McKinney joined-in on the fun, as the top three swapped paint in their fight for the lead.  The status quo held the next time ’round with Bell, Seavey and McKinney covered by the proverbial blanket before Bell clouted the wall exiting Turn Two on Lap 28 and rebounded into McKinney.  McKinnery gathered it together and continued ahead of Holley while Bell slipped back to fourth.

Bell Weathers Late Restart for World of Outlaws Win at The Grove

Christopher Bell led from start to finish at Williams Grove last night to win iRacing’s weekly World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series feature. But Bell’s victory wasn’t as easy as it looked. Despite grabbing the pole position and leading the first 27 laps, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor faced one final hurdle in the form of a Lap 29 restart following a caution that put Mike McKinney right on his bumper.

In the wake of a runner-up finish last week at Volusia Park Speedway, McKinney had a little extra motivation to get the win. But Bell sealed the deal with a storming restart, pulling clear of McKinney and third placed Kevin J. Holley to take the win.
