Saldana and Motter Team Looking To Defend Last Year’s Victory at The Dirt Track At Charlotte

Fans,
Fans,

CONCORD, N.C. (May 20, 2015) – Joey Saldana and the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop team are looking forward to defending last year’s World of Outlaws victory at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Friday, May 22.

Saldana dominated competition during last year’s event, winning his heat, the dash, and then scored a wire-to-wire victory, notching his fourth career win at The Dirt Track.

“We have a fast car that we haven’t been able to show case yet this season,” said team owner Dan Motter.  “Sometimes you have to have a little luck and that’s the biggest element we’ve been missing.  Most consistently we have had a pill draw that has put us out late in the order for time trials.  In most cases, the earlier you are able to get on the track, the better your qualifying attempt is because track conditions deteriorate to a certain degree as the session goes on, especially with the big fields we’ve had recently.  That puts you behind the eight ball from the beginning.

“Kudos to our team members for going forward with a positive ‘tomorrow’s a new day’ attitude.  Everybody works together and digs deep.  I know our victories will come and what better place than Charlotte?”

On Monday, May 25, the Outlaws will wrap Memorial Day Weekend at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana.  Saldana won here in 2009 and snagged a fourth place finish last year.

With 90 races on the 2015 Outlaws schedule, the roadies are in the heat of the season, competing multiple times weekly.

Saldana, currently sixth in WoO point standings, hopes to begin his climb back up the ladder starting with Charlotte.
