Reigning Outlaw Champ Races Arctic Cat/Ford Performance Machine to Knoxville Triumph

Tony Stewart-Curb/Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver Donny Schatz and the Arctic Cat/Ford Performance-backed team returned to historic Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway this past weekend with something to prove. After a handful of frustrating weeks of results with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Sprint Car Series, Schatz opened the Brownwells Big Guns Bash with a third-place finish Friday and broke through Saturday night with a flag-to-flag triumph to earn the team its 10th WoO A-Feature win of the season.

There can only be one first-time champion of a racing series. Ever. In the case of iRacing’s World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, the one and only first champion is (and forever will be) Logan Seavey. The Californian dominated the early rounds of the season with wins at the virtual Volusia, Eldora and USA International speedways and then cruised to title, skipping the last few weeks of sim racing in order to pursue his “day job” in real racing – competing in real world Midget cars.

Two Top-10 Finishes Highlight Knoxville Double-header for Larson Marks Racing

MOORESVILLE, NC — (JUNE 12, 2017) — The Larson Marks Racing team wrapped up the World of Outlaws double-header at Knoxville Raceway this weekend with a pair of solid top-10 finishes. Friday night, Shane Stewart earned a fourth-place finish and followed it up with a sixth-place effort on Saturday.

Stewart opened the weekend with a fourth-place qualifying effort in Flight A of time trials on Friday and won his heat race from the outside of the front row. The four pill was drawn for the Craftsman Club Dash inversion, putting the LMR No. 2 on the outside of the front row. On the start of the six-lap dash, Stewart slipped back and finished fifth, to earn an inside row three starting spot for the main event. He was able to climb one spot in the 25-lap main event to tally a fourth-place finish.

Marks qualified for the Friday evening program by qualifying second fastest in his time trials group, followed by a third place finish during heat race competition.

West Liberty Raceway will mark the eighth track in the state of Iowa that the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series has competed at dating back to the series inaugural season of 1978.
