It was Schatz’s sixth win in his last seven starts at the bullring. Brad Sweet came forward to finish second with Madsen settling for third.

The 2018 season marks the 12th consecutive year the series has visited the always thrilling high-banked bullring. Donny Schatz has won six of the last eight races for the Outlaws at the track.

World of Outlaws Makes First trip of 2018 to River Cities Speedway on June 15
GRAND FORKS, ND — June 7, 2018 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will hit the track at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND on Friday, June 15 for the 1st Leg of the Gerdau Recycling Northern Tour. The event will mark the 12th straight year the Series has visited the high-banked, three-tenths-mile bullring. Also in action will be the NLRA Late Model Series.
In 2017, David Gravel and Donny Schatz split wins at River Cities Speedway. Gravel scored his first win at the track in June, while Schatz was victorious in August. The win for Gravel was one of two in North Dakota during the 2017 season as he also visited victory lane at Nodak Speedway in Minot.

Schatz outdueled Brad Sweet to win his 17th feature of the 2017 season at River Cities. To make things sweeter, Schatz also picked up the NLRA Late Model feature earlier in the night.

After three-hour delay, Gravel held off Madsen for ninth win of season
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — June 17, 2017 — It was Jacob Allen who jumped out to an early lead during the initial start of the Gerdau Recycling Northern Tour. As Allen was coming to complete lap five of the 40-lap race, Allen jumped the cushion in Turn 4 went for a wild flip, bringing out the red flag. During the red-flag stoppage, a passing rain storm hit the Grand Forks, N.D.-area forcing a nearly three-hour stoppage. When the show got back under way, it was Gravel that withstood a couple charges from the No. 2M of Kerry Madsen en route to his ninth World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series win of the 2017 season.
