Dennis Erb Jr. has always been a regular on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour, winning the points championship three times in a row from 2007-2009. Backed by longtime crew chief Heather Lyne, an electrical engineer, the two are arguably the most interesting yet recognizable driver-crew chief combo in Late Model racing history.
Since 2013, Dennis has been racing at the national level, getting repeated experience racing on tracks outside of his native Illinois.
Known as one of the drivers in the pits that goes about his business, it’s his dedication to the sport and commitment to excellence that has brought numerous episodes of success throughout his career; most notably a $100,000 win in the 2016 Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway.
Outside of the national stage, Erb has enjoyed success at the local level as well, capturing the 2007 and 2008 DIRTcar Late Model championship to compliment his Summer Nationals titles.
Despite his success with DIRTcar and intermittent appearances with the World of Outlaws, Dennis had never previously competed as a part of the full-time Outlaw roster. Until this year.
Dennis announced his plans to go full-time with the Outlaws in 2019 back in January, and will definitely be a threat to win at each event on the schedule as he looks to make his mark in the World of Outlaws history books.
