Schatz Scores a Pair of Top-Fives in Texas 

TSR Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance Team Climb to Fourth in World of Outlaw Standings 

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver Donny Schatz brought home a pair of top-five finishes during World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman® Sprint Car Series action last weekend in Texas. Schatz raced the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy/Chevrolet Performance J&J from 13^th to fifth Friday in the Outlaws’ debut at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, and challenged for the victory Saturday at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.

“We didn’t end up with the results we were hoping for, but we’re making progress,” Schatz said. “You just have to make the most of every night. Going out early to qualify Friday probably wasn’t the best, but having a middle-of-the-pack number Saturday worked out OK with the circumstances we faced in Baytown. The Bad Boy/Chevrolet Performance J&J was good Saturday in the feature. I kept working the middle of the track and got pretty close to Daryn for the lead, but he did a good job and got the victory. I’m proud of my guys for continuing to work hard. We are five races into the season and I’m excited about getting back to the track on Thursday and continuing our progression.”

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 24, 2016) – Following an eventual first weekend of the 2016 World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman® Sprint Car Series campaign, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) are poised to return to action this weekend with a doubleheader in Texas.

Schatz, who for the third consecutive season triumphed in the second WoO A-Feature of 2016, will lead the way behind the wheel of the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy/Chevrolet Performance J&J as the Outlaws’ make their debut Friday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas before returning to Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas for the first time since 2011.

Schatz Triumphs in Outlaws’ Opening Weekend 

TSR Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance Team Posts Solid Results in DIRTcar Nationals

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver Donny Schatz opened his 20^th season with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman® Sprint Car Series last weekend at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida, with a pair of scintillating performances and a top-10 finish in the final three nights of the 45^th annual DIRTcar Nationals.

Schatz wheeled the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy/Chevrolet Performance J&J from 17^th to second in the first 15 laps of Friday’s 30-lap A-Feature and battled side-by-side with leader Daryn Pittman before losing an engine on lap 22. The following night, Schatz raced past Brad Sweet on lap 21 and drove away to score his first WoO triumph of 2016 and 205^th of his career. In Sunday’s finale, Schatz was chasing the overall DIRTcar Nationals Big Gator trophy but came up short after racing from 12^th to eighth on an extremely fast racing surface.

Sides Extends Top-10 Streak at DIRTcar Nationals to 10 Straight Seasons 

Inside Line Promotions – BARBERVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 16, 2016) – Jason Sides continued his top-10 streak at Volusia Speedway Park last weekend during the 45 ^th annual DIRTcar Nationals.

Sides scored a sixth-place result on Friday during the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season opener, which gives him at least one top 10 every year at the fast track since 2007.

“I just wish we could have had a couple more,” he said. “I really wanted to get a couple of top fives.”

The week-long event began last Wednesday with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Sides qualified fourth quickest overall and he then advanced from fourth to second place in a heat race to earn a spot in the dash. Unfortunately, mechanical problems derailed the remainder of the night.

Sides Returns to the Road as 2016 Season Begins This Week in Florida 

Inside Line Promotions – BARTLETT, Tenn. (Feb. 9, 2016) – It’s back to the gypsy life for Jason Sides as his 2016 season in the United States gets underway this week.
Sides, who is fresh off his trip to compete for several weeks in Australia, will invade Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., for the 45th annual DIRTcar Nationals with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions and the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series this Wednesday through Sunday.

“When everything is new it looks good and shiny and you just want to race,” he said. “It will be fun to see how it all works out, especially with the new tires.”

This week will be the first chance for Sides to test out the new tire rule featuring an 18-inch right rear as well as the change to the wicker bill on the top wing.

Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver Donny Schatz and the Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance team were seeking a third consecutive World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series victory Friday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway in southeast Indiana. The driver of the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J had won the previous two WoO races at the high-banked, 3/8-mile dirt oval and, after starting 12th, he worked his way into contention before finishing third.

“Tonight was just another example of the phenomenal job this Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance race team does adjusting to the track conditions,” said Schatz, who has clinched the 2015 WoO championship with four nights of racing remaining. “We weren’t as good as we need to be early in the night and Rick (Warner), Steve (Swenson) and Eric (Prutzman) just kept working. The track taking rubber like it did threw us for a little curve — we didn’t expect that to happen. It was a little sketchy there early but we found some places to get up through there. I felt like I was closing in on the leaders but just couldn’t do anything with them once the rubber really locked down. I tried everything I could. Some nights you’re just going to have that so we’ll leave here happy. I can’t thank Tony Stewart and all our partners enough. They give us the opportunity to be out here doing what we love to do. We’ve have had an incredible season and still have some races to win, starting with Port Royal next weekend.”

Inside Line Promotions – LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (Oct. 19, 2015) – Jason Sides got off to a rough start last Friday at Lawrenceburg Speedway during the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event.

“Two years in a row we’ve had brake issues there,” he said. “Last year we were qualifying and the left front brake fell off. This year right as I pushed off (for hot laps) I heard metal hitting metal. I thought a shock broke or was accidentally left loose. I made a lap and a half and had no brakes. It broke the mounts off the rear end housing. We barely got the rear end changed for qualifying.”

LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (Oct. 16, 2015) – The World of Outlaws made a single stop this week at Lawrenceburg Speedway, one of the great bullrings that dates back to the 1960s when A.J. Foyt and Johnny Rutherford entertained the fans driving midgets.

In preliminary action tonight, Joey Saldana qualified 11th with a 12.318-second lap. This translated to a starting position for the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop 71M on the outside of the front row in the third heat.

The competitors in the grueling, coast-to-coast, bullring-to-big half-mile dirt oval, February-to-November World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series marathon are getting the “five-to-go” signal this week as they make their final Midwest stop of 2015.

The first driver seeing the signal is Tony Stewart-Curb Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver Donny Schatz, and he’s been leading the way for most of the season. The 38-year-old North Dakota driver and his Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance team are in the midst of the best single-season performance in more than 20 seasons. The team has already clinched the season points championship and looks to continue its storybook season Friday at Lawrenceburg (Indiana) Speedway, where they’ve won the 35-lap A-Feature at the 3/8-mile high-banked, dirt oval each of the previous two seasons.
