The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series takes on Duck River Raceway Park on Friday, April 8 and Tazewell Speedway on Saturday, April 9

CONCORD, N.C. – April 6, 2016 – To this day, Eric Wells still thinks luck played a role in his first World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series victory at Duck River Raceway Park in 2013. But, winning this weekend may prove that it is more than luck.

With the first victory, Wells became the fifth driver in the series’ history to win an A-Main while chasing the Rookie of the Year honor (Fuller (’07), Brian Shirley (’07), Austin Hubbard (’10) and Bub McCool (’12)), which he ended up winning at the end of the 2013 campaign.

“It was unexpected to say the least,” said Wells about the race. “The weather was bad, everyone was complaining. But, we had to make the best of what we had.”

World of Outlaws Adopt Unified Rules

World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series Adopts Unified Late Model Suspension Rules

Rules to take effect on Monday, April 11

CONCORD, N.C. – March 31, 2016 – The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series and DIRTcar have announced they will adopt the newly created Unified Late Model Suspension Rules following a months-long process that included manufacturers, constructors and dirt late model sanctioning bodies from across the country.

The collective effort of industry leaders began earlier this year and was led by motorsports authority John Darby and chaired by Eldora Speedway General Manager Roger Slack. Darby, working with the coalition, developed rules that have been agreed upon and identify a uniform rear suspension and shock package.

“When the group convened and there was overwhelming, collective support for finding common ground, we were thrilled,” said World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series Director Tim Christman. “The unified suspension rule is a demonstration that when people work together, great things can be accomplished. This collective effort and the end result is good for late model racing. We look forward to more good things coming out of the coalition in pursuit of the betterment of the sport.”
