The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series races into Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway March 31 to April 2

FARMER CITY, Ill. – March 30, 2016 – Since Brian Shirley was eight years-old, all he thought about was motorcycles. At the time, it did not cross his mind that he would someday sink into the seat of a late model. But, all that matters to him now is that it feels like home.

“If I told you who my hero was growing up, you guys would be like, ‘who?'” said Shirley, who idolized motorcyclists throughout his two-wheeled career. “It’s kind of weird, my desire to win really focused me to be a better race car driver than anything.”

Shirley is coming home with that very desire to win.

Driving the Budweiser/C-H Plumbing Moyer Victory Chassis No. 76, the 24 year old amassed six top-five finishes and eight top-ten finishes in 37 A-mains in 2015, which was good enough to place him 10th in the final championship standings at the end of the year.

“[Winning the Rookie of the Year title] meant a lot to me,” Overton said. “I’ve never won any kind of championship before. We never did any of that kind of stuff, it was always hit and miss, racing the big paying events.

Jason Covert Makes a Statement with the Outlaws

Returned to day job as the leader of World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series standings

CONCORD, NC – Feb. 26, 2016 – Jason Covert is not as well known as many of the drivers he competed against during the opening weekend of World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series action at Screven (Ga.) Motor Speedway, but none of that mattered as the Pennsylvania-native left Georgia two weeks ago with the series points lead.

It was a testament to Covert’s experience and skill as a driver as well as the competition the full-time series drivers face every night.

A native of Orbisonia, Pa., Covert began racing in 1987 after his father purchased him a 1977 Ford Pinto for $75 on his 16th birthday. Driving the Pinto, Covert competed in a four cylinder mini-stock series at Hill Valley Speedway and Path Valley Speedway for 10 years, winning two track championships at Path Valley.
