Mach Speed: Elite Racing Thanks the Armed Forces at Mini Gold Cup

Speed is a universal language. The speed at which an object moves through the air is known as mach speed. While sprint car racing measures speed in miles per hour, most of our men and women in uniform are accustomed to measuring speed in machs. As Jason Meyers raced for the first time in California at Silver Dollar Speedway since winning the 2010 World of Outlaws title, he also took some time to thank the men and women of the Armed Forces this weekend. While everything did not go quite as planned at the Mini Gold Cup, the Elite Racing squad rallied and did their best to handle an issue they rarely have to deal with.

Bullring Action Coming Up!

Last week the bright lights of Las Vegas shined on The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for two nights of World of Outlaws competition as Craig Dollansky made his 43rd and 44th appearances at the half-mile oval.  Up next, the Big Game Treestands #7 team continues their trek west as they invade California this weekend for the first of four short track, ‘elbows up’, events starting with the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday and continuing into April.

Tony Stewart Racing Tandem Kicks Off California Outlaws Tour with Mini Gold Cup

INDIANAPOLIS (March 9, 2011) – California has long been the destination for those seeking fortune and fame. This weekend, the Golden State welcomes two of the most decorated racers in short-track history. Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz will lead the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series into battle as they embark on a month-long tour of California, beginning with Saturday night’s Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. The quarter-mile dirt track has been a gold mine over the years for Kinser, who has won 22 WoO races at the track, and Schatz, who was triumphant last September during the annual Gold Cup festivities. Both drivers are looking to build on their performances in last week’s Las Vegas World of Outlaws Nationals presented by J.D. Byrider.
