Donny Schatz May Eastern Tour World of Outlaws Advance

INDIANAPOLIS (May 13, 2015) – The history behind the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series has deep roots and, after nearly 40 years of making stops at dirt tracks across the country, “The Greatest Show on Dirt” still has rivalries just as hostile. The leader of today’s modern era Outlaws is Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s Donny Schatz and, this week, he leads the Outlaws into Central Pennsylvania where the local contingent of racers, recognized as the Pennsylvania Posse, are hoping to slow down his incredible start to the 2015 WoO campaign.

Schatz, the six-time and reigning WoO champion, parked the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J in victory lane twice last weekend at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio and will look to continue his winning streak Wednesday evening at Lincoln Speedway near Hanover, Pennsylvania in the Gettysburg Clash. The first of three swings through the rugged Posse territory continues with a pair of races Friday and Saturday at historic Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg. The week of action concludes Sunday with a night of racing at Weedsport (N.Y.) Speedway.

Schatz Doubles Up at Eldora

Winning at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio was something six-time and reigning World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz has been trying to accomplish since July 2009. The Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing (TSR) driver not only scored one win at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway this past weekend, he picked up two by sweeping the “Mother of All Sprint Car Weekends” Friday and Saturday at the famous half-mile dirt oval. Schatz wheeled the TSR No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J to a convincing triumph in Friday’s 30-lap A-Feature, then led all 30 laps in Saturday’s A-Feature to give him eight career wins at the track and eight WoO wins this season.

Saldana Rebounds To Fourth Place Finish Saturday at Eldora

ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 9, 2015) – Heavy rain forced the delay of the final night of “The Mother of all Sprint Car Weekends” at Eldora Speedway tonight.  Patience paid off and racing got underway after 8 p.m. with the USAC non-wing Sprint Cars and World of Outlaws winged Sprint Cars.

This was the last night for the World of Outlaws competitors to get a feel for the Eldora half-mile before their return in July for Kings Royal weekend.  All new clay was placed on the Eldora track for the 2015 season, which is not abrasive to tires, giving the surface a different feel than in years past.
