Moyer Controls Second UMP Late Model A-Main Of 41st UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment

BARBERVILLE, FL – Feb. 21, 2012 – Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., resumed his winning ways at Volusia Speedway Park on Tuesday night, rolling to victory in the second 30-lap DIRTcar UMP Late Model feature of the 41st UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment.

The 54-year-old dirt Late Model legend controlled the short sprint, leading the entire distance after starting from the outside pole position. He outgunned polesitter Steve Francis of Ashland, Ky., for the top spot and never looked back.

Francis Overpowers Eckert For Checkered Flag On Opening Night Of UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Late Model Action

BARBERVILLE, FL – Feb. 20, 2012 – Steve Francis of Ashland, Ky., began the Late Model portion of the 41st UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment with a vintage performance, overpowering longtime rival Rick Eckert of York, Pa., with a late-race pass to capture Monday night’s 30-lap DIRTcar UMP-sanctioned feature at Volusia Speedway Park.

The 44-year-old standout snapped a three-year victory drought at the half-mile oval – and continued his rebound from a rare winless 2011 season – in impressive fashion. He advanced from the seventh starting spot to grab the lead from Eckert on lap 25 with a do-or-die charge around the outside of the D-shaped track.

OCALA, FL – Feb. 18, 2012 – Rick Eckert figured out Bubba Raceway Park just in time to score a stirring victory in Saturday night’s 60-lap Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals A-Main.

The defending World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion from York, Pa., found his rhythm in the finale of the national tour’s inaugural three-race meet at the central Florida oval. He surged into the lead on lap 44 and held on for the remainder of the distance, reaching the checkered flag first after Mike Marlar’s last-lap bid ended with the Winfield, Tenn., driver smacking the turn-three wall.

West Virginian Becomes Alltime Winningest Driver On World of Outlaws Late Model Series

OCALA, FL – Feb. 17, 2012 – Josh Richards got the best of Darrell Lanigan on Friday night, ending his friendly rival’s domination of World of Outlaws Late Model Series action at Bubba Raceway Park with a hard-fought victory in the 50-lap Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals A-Main.

Richards, 23, of Shinnston, W.Va., made WoO LMS history in the process, becoming the national tour’s alltime winningest driver. He won for the 38th time in his career, moving him out of tie for first with Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., on the checkered flag list that includes races run in the modern era (2004-present) and the original 1988-89 seasons contested under late WoO Sprint Car Series founder Ted Johnson.

Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., and Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., unofficially turned the fastest laps of the test-and-tune session, which gave drivers an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the three-eighths-mile oval’s increased banking and wider surface in advance of three consecutive nights of World of Outlaws Late Model Series competition.
