CONCORD, N.C. — Nov. 3, 2011 — Lowes Foods returns as title sponsor for the Lowes Foods World of Outlaws World Finals Presented by Tom’s Snacks, Coca-Cola and Nature’s Own beginning tonight with Kellogg’s Qualifying Night at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

This marks the second consecutive year Lowes Foods has been title sponsor on the championship-deciding season finale for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Big-Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series.

Screven Motor Speedway Management Cancels World of Outlaws Late Model Series Event Set For Wed., Nov. 2

SYLVANIA, GA – Oct. 24, 2011 – The World of Outlaws Late Model Series event scheduled for Wed., Nov. 2, at Screven Motor Speedway has been canceled, track owner Redd Griffin announced on Monday.

The national tour was set to compete at the three-eighths-mile oval as part of the track’s rescheduled ‘Winter Freeze’ program, a doubleheader featuring dirt Late Models and the All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series that was rained out on its original date in February. Griffin added a World of Outlaws sanction to the full-fender portion of the twinbill after the WoO LMS’s lone 2011 visit to Screven on March 26 was washed out by thunderstorms.

Record-Tying Victory At The Dirt Track At Charlotte Pulls Richards Closer To World of Outlaws Late Model Series Points Lead

CONCORD, NC – Oct. 12, 2011 – Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., ran away with an important victory in Wednesday night’s 50-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Showdown at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

The $10,875 triumph was Richards’s ninth of the 2011 World of Outlaws Late Model Series campaign, matching the national tour’s single-season win record established by Scott Bloomquist in 2004. It also was his 37th overall A-Main checkered flag, moving him into a tie with Billy Moyer atop the circuit’s alltime win list (1988-89, 2004-present).

HEADED TO CAROLINA: The path to the 2011 World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship now runs through The Dirt Track at Charlotte – and the two combatants for the $100,000 crown are ready to hit the immaculate four-tenths-mile oval at full strength.

Rick Eckert of York, Pa., leads the WoO LMS standings by just 22 points over Josh Richards of Shinnston, W.Va., entering the World of Outlaws Showdown on Wednesday night (Oct. 12) at The Dirt Track, which is set to host three of the tour’s last four events this season.
