Homestretch: Outlaws to Settle Tight Points Race in Final Regular Season Shows

The series travels to Lakeside Speedway on Friday, Oct. 21, then Salina Highbanks Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 22

CONCORD, N.C. — Oct. 1, 2016 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series season is coming to a close, and the series’ Platinum drivers are feeling the heat approaching the prestigious Bad Boy Off Road World Finals. But just before that, the teams will string together two barn-burners at highly-regarded tracks, Lakeside Speedway (Kans.) on Friday, Oct. 21 and Salina Highbanks Speedway (Okla.) on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Rumble on the River at Lakeside Speedway is a special addition to the 2016 season, and with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twister Showdown at Salina Highbanks Speedway to follow, the two tracks will be a mad-dash as the last regular shows of the season.

Champion Racing Oil National Open Postponed until October 14

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Sept. 30, 2016 — Due to persistent rain, the running of the Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove Speedway has now been postponed to Friday, October 14.

The event will become a one-day World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series event with a $25,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start payoff for the 40-lap feature. Start time will be 7:30PM on Friday, October 14, at Williams Grove.

ROSSBURG, Ohio – Sept. 23, 2016 – Shane Stewart successfully fended off the field Friday night, ultimately winning opening night of Four Crown Nationals Weekend at Eldora Speedway. Though the World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series was only scheduled to compete in a one-day, 30-lap feature that paid $10,000, Stewart and company set the tone for the track’s 35th-running of the storied event.

NEW WESTON, Ohio — Sept. 23, 2016 — In a stretch of four restarts with no completed laps, a three-way battle between Shane Stewart, Daryn Pittman and Donny Schatz ensued. But it was the strong restarts at the right times that catapulted Stewart into more than a three-second lead. Though late pushes from other series drivers chipped-away at his lead, Stewart ultimately won his eighth win of the season.
