Shane Stewart Scores Monster Energy Meltdown Win at Skagit Speedway

Picks up eighth World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory of the season

ALGER, Wash. – Sept. 5, 2015 – Shane Stewart battled Jason Johnson and held firm through a yellow and red flag plagued first half to win night two of the Monster Meltdown at Skagit Speedway on Saturday.

With his win, Stewart claimed his eighth World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory of the season.

“It just feels good to get these wins, they’re so hard to get,” Stewart said. “Starting on the front row was obviously pretty important tonight and the way the track ended up racing, it was pretty tough. And the lap cars were pretty tough.”

“I love coming here. The Northwest has some of the best sprint car fans in the country.”

SARVER, Pa. (Sept. 5) — Rick Eckert of York, Pa., made some very satisfying — and profitable — history Saturday night, becoming the first home-state driver to capture the Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com at Lernerville Speedway.

Earning every cent of his $30,150 pay in a race postponed by rain on June 27, the 49-year-old star outdueled fellow Pennsylvanian Jared Miley of South Park to grab the lead on lap 64 and fought off a late-race challenge from Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga., to register his second World of Outlaws Late Model Series triumph since debuting a new P&J Contractors-sponsored Longhorn Race Car three weeks earlier.
