Curious which drivers you should keep an eye on at each World of Outlaws Late Model Series event? Series Announcer Ruben Mireles will bring you his five drivers to watch each week.

This week: World of Outlaws Great Lake Showdown at Raceway 7 on May 15

RUBEN’S FIVE:

Tim McCreadie
Why: T-Mac had a stellar showing at Mississippi Thunder Speedway with a pair of top fives and a solid seventh at the Alabama Gang 100 the week before. McCreadie told me the switch to Longhorn has made it easier for him to adjust on the car. That’s simply because he’s been behind the wheel of a Longhorn longer than any other chassis brand in his career. He also mentioned he feels comfortable. We are in his region this weekend. Let’s not forget he holds the track record at Raceway 7 at a 16.897 sec. Experience is one thing, but when you add the momentum, it’s a recipe for success.

Nick Hoffman
Why: After the big Dairyland Showdown victory, Hoffman returns to Tye Twarog’s home state of Ohio. Hoffman had a fourth-place run a year ago at Raceway 7, and the three drivers who finished in front of him won’t be here this weekend. Sitting second in the point standings and Pierce barely fishing in the top 10 year ago, I can see Hoffman with a home run tonight!

Max Blair
Why: Just like McCreadie, Max Blair is also back in his region. Max took advantage of the off weekend last week and ran around home collecting five victories. If anyone knows these tracks, it’s Max. With the support of family and friends this weekend, Max has all the support and momentum for big results. He comes into the weekend ninth in series points, only eight points back of sixth.

Dave Hess
Why: A strong local that can really turn some heads this weekend in Dave Hess. Not one, but two World of Outlaws victories are on his resume – one at Wayne County Speedway and the other at Stateline Speedway. While the final results show eight for Hess last year, let’s not forget the big comeback he had. From the back of an LCS to the final transfer spot and managed to get a top 10. If Hess can start up front, he can give the Outlaws a run for their money tonight.

Brian Shirley
Why: A solid top five at Mississippi Thunder Speedway is exactly what the doctor ordered for Shirley. This team has been quiet compared to how they ended last year, but Shirley and crew are starting to find a rhythm. This Illinois crew performs better when times get busy. Four top-five runs during five events at home last weekend outside of World of Outlaws competition also shows signs of improvements for a team that silently has been moving up the point standings.

You can follow these drivers and more all weekend by getting your tickets in advance or at the gate.

If you can’t make it to the track, you can watch every lap live – with Ruben Mireles – on DIRTVision.
