Sides Heading to North Dakota Tracks After Tough Week in the Midwest

EAGLE, NE — June 15, 2017 — Jason Sides is North Dakota bound for a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series doubleheader this weekend.

Sides and the Outlaws will compete on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks before heading to Red River Valley Speedway in Fargo on Saturday.

He enters this weekend having earned at least one top-10 finish during eight of the last nine seasons at River Cities Speedway, where he recorded a career-best runner-up result in 2011. He is also riding a four-race top-10 streak with the World of Outlaws at Red River Valley Speedway, where he last competed in 2012.

“I always enjoy the tracks in North Dakota,” he said. “We’ve had a good amount of success at both tracks. River Cities is a place that is high banked and small. We usually go there twice a year so we have a lot of laps there. Red River is a little bigger, but we’ve only been there a handful of times in the last decade.”

Sides is hopeful the top-10 trends at the two tracks will continue this weekend after a frustrating week in the Midwest. Sides placed 20 th and 21st, respectively, last Friday and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, before he netted a 17th -place result on Tuesday at Eagle Raceway.

“We didn’t qualify well any of the three nights during the last week and that always makes it a struggle for the rest of the night,” he said. “We need to put down a good qualifying lap each time out this weekend to set ourselves up for success.”
