‘World of Outlaws WOW!’ Debuts Sunday Night to Launch World of Outlaws Action on CBS Sports Network

Weekly programming airs 9 p.m. ET on Sundays beginning Nov. 3

CONCORD, N.C. – Nov. 1, 2013 – The World of Outlaws kicks off its broadcast schedule on CBS Sports Network on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET with the World of Outlaws WOW! special show highlighting 10 reasons the World of Outlaws is “The Greatest Show on Dirt!”

From wild rides to local heroes, front-stretch traffic jams to slide jobs, flaring tempers to downright crazy action, the special one-hour program on Sunday night entitled World of Outlaws WOW! with hosts Dave Rieff and Shane Andrews will set the stage for coverage of World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series and Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Series events to come in the weeks ahead. CBS Sports Network will air coverage of events from Williams Grove Speedway, Rolling Wheels Raceway Park and the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, plus all of the thrills from NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week.

CONCORD, NC – Oct. 29, 2013 – The World of Outlaws World Finals on Nov. 7-9 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte is shaping up as a coronation for Josh Richards, whose season-long success has him standing at the precipice of a third career World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship.

But that doesn’t mean the concluding weekend of the national tour’s 2013 campaign will be devoid of points-race drama. Several spots in the WoO LMS points standings remain contested, putting thousands of dollars in points-fund cash on the line during a World Finals spectacular that features a pair of 50-lap A-Mains paying $12,000 to win.

LAVONIA, GA – Oct. 22, 2013 – The World of Outlaws Late Model Series event scheduled for Tues., Nov. 5, at Lavonia Speedway has been canceled, track and series officials announced on Tuesday.

Lavonia promoter Stan Lester cited safety concerns related to problems with the Georgia track’s homestretch wall for prompting his decision to call off the race, which had been rescheduled from its original May 3 date by rain.

CONCORD, NC – Oct. 21, 2013 – When Mark Richards added the 33rd annual Red Buck Dirt Track World Championship to his team’s racing schedule earlier this year, he assumed his son Josh would be behind the wheel of his familiar Rocket Chassis house car for the 100-lap event at Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park.

But after Josh informed his father late in the summer that he couldn’t compete in promoter Carl Short’s traditional fall special because he had plans with his fiancée, the elder Richards kept the DTWC on his radar. He decided to enter the race with reigning DIRTcar Summer Nationals and UMP national champion Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., substituting for Josh – and considering the results, he’s glad he did.

CBS Sports Network to Air 2013 World of Outlaws and Super DIRT Week Action

Programming airs Sundays at 9:00 PM ET beginning Sunday, Nov. 3

CONCORD, N.C. – Oct. 7, 2013 – CBS Sports Network will air six major events from the World of Outlaws and Super DIRT Week, as well as a special countdown show, beginning on Sunday, Nov. 3, and continuing each Sunday at 9:00 PM, ET through Dec. 22.

Coverage on CBS Sports Network kicks off with a one-hour special program entitled World of Outlaws WOW!, documenting the “Top 10 reasons why they call it ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt!'” The show features wild flips, great championship battles and much more.

Lanigan, 43, of Union, Ky., emerged victorious in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series special for the second consecutive year in convincing fashion, grabbing the lead from Shane Clanton of Zebulon, Ga., on lap 33 and dominating the remainder of the distance behind the wheel of his self-owned Rocket car.

Cancelation Of Friday Night’s Qualifying Program Sets Up 75-Lap, $15,000-To-Win World of Outlaws Late Model Series Event On Saturday

MARNE, MI – Sept. 20, 2013 – Saturated track conditions resulting from wet weather over the past two days have forced Berlin Raceway and World of Outlaws Late Model Series officials to condense the second annual Keyser Manufacturing ‘Down & Dirty’ By NAPA Auto Parts weekend to a single day of action on Saturday (Sept. 21).

Friday night’s scheduled qualifying program at Berlin was canceled late this afternoon after it was determined that the dirt surface spread atop the 7/16th-mile asphalt oval could not be run in sufficiently to allow safe and competitive racing.
