World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series at a Glance

Antioch Speedway, Calistoga Speedway

ANTIOCH, Calif. – April 1, 2013 – A pair of dramatically different tracks highlight this weekend’s World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series events in California.

On Friday, Antioch Speedway – a high-banked, 3/8 mile – hosts the premier sprint car series for the third time in as many years. Californian Tim Kaeding won a thriller on the final lap last season with 20-time champion Steve Kinser claiming the inaugural event in 2011.

Scenic Calistoga Speedway, which is a flatter half mile, will have a race on Saturday for the 25th time in the past 28 years. Kinser has a series-leading five feature victories during that span at Calistoga Speedway.

WHEN

Friday, April 5, at Antioch Speedway in Antioch, Calif. The front gate is scheduled to open at 1 p.m.

Saturday, April 6, at Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga, Calif. The front gate is scheduled to open at 4 p.m. with qualifying around 6:30 p.m.

Antioch Speedway is a high-banked, 3/8-mile oval. The track record of 11.563 seconds was established by Sammy Swindell on Sept. 12, 2011.

Calistoga Speedway is a semi-banked, half-mile oval. The track record of 16.057 seconds was established by Mark Kinser on Aug. 31, 1997.
