About Chris MaddenChris Madden has been a veteran of the Late Model circuit for the past decade, with a lengthy list of accomplishments decorating his vivid career. He’s driven for several car owners through the years, most notably taking over the piloting duties of the Barry Wright Race Cars ride for the 2018 season.
Smokey drove the Barry Wright ICON chassis to eight wins in 2018, capturing victories in the Fulton Bank 40, Late Model National Open and the prestigious Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway for the first time in his career.
By the end of 2018, Chris was locked in an intense battle for the Series points championship with veteran Mike Marlar and defending champion Brandon Sheppard, but an untimely engine failure in the Friday night portion of the World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte cost him the title. He settled for third place, and went back to the drawing board for 2019.
2019 brought a very up-and-down season for the South Carolinian, originally teaming up with Iowa-based Skyline Motorsports and Capital Race Cars for his third year aboard the full-time roster. Madden split from the team in mid-June and soon joined forces with an old friend – Dirt Late Model Hall-of-Famer Scott Bloomquist. He went on a tear through the back half of 2019, winning 3 World of Outlaws Features and several other “crown jewel” events around the Dirt Late Model world to become one of the top drivers in the country once again.
In 2020, Madden has returned to the full-time Outlaws roster for his fourth go-around, as part of Scott Bloomquist Racing, eyeing his first national championship.
