History Maker: Saldana Returns to I-96, Site of his First Win

History Maker: Joey Saldana’s First World of Outlaws Win Came in Inaugural I-96 Speedway Event 

LAKE ODESSA, Mich. — May 28, 2015 — Joey Saldana made history on a couple of fronts on July 24, 1995. First and foremost, he scored his first career World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A-Feature win that night at I-96 Speedway in Michigan, by leading all 30 laps. Saldana picked up the victory over 20-time series champion Steve Kinser. Saldana’s name also went into the record books that evening as the first World of Outlaws winner at I-96 Speedway, which has hosted the series 13 more times since.

Saldana and his fellow World of Outlaws competitors will return I-96 Speedway this weekend for the NAPA Auto Parts Rumble in Michigan on Saturday, May 30. The event will be one of just two in the state of Michigan for the series.

World of Outlaws Will Return Oct. 16 to Lawrenceburg Speedway

Rescheduled event makes up for rainout on May 25

CONCORD, N.C. – May 29, 2015 – Lawrenceburg Speedway and the World of Outlaws announced Friday, Oct. 16, as the makeup date for the event postponed by rain on May 25.

The rescheduled event will now precede the World of Outlaws race at Plymouth Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 17, giving the Hoosier State a full weekend of The Greatest Show on Dirt.

5/29/2015 – Attica Raceway Park

ATTICA, Ohio – May 29, 2015 – A mid-race restart proved pivotal at Friday night’s Kistler Engine Classic at Attica Raceway Park as Dale Blaney battled past Cody Darrah. Darrah, in the late going, held off a surging David Gravel who drove from an 11th place starting position to third. Blaney became the 12th different winner of the World of Outlaws season.
