California Outlaw Tour Continues in Placerville, Calistoga

INDIANAPOLIS (April 8, 2015) – One of the most challenging aspects of competing with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series is that no two nights are exactly the same. For the last 18 years, Donny Schatz has been traveling across North America honing his craft on dirt tracks of varying sizes with the best Sprint car drivers in the world. The six-time and reigning WoO champion and driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing’s (TSR) No. 15 Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance J&J will take advantage of that experience with this week’s challenge of first racing at one of the smallest tracks, Placerville Speedway, Wednesday and then taking on one of the bigger tracks on the schedule, Calistoga Speedway, Saturday and Sunday.

Succeeding with the Outlaws takes a number of skills and versatility is a key attribute. Schatz leads the Outlaws to Placerville Wednesday where the series’ hasn’t competed at since March 1992. It’s the first of five tracks on the 2015 WoO schedule where Schatz has yet to compete at during his Outlaw tenure. That won’t be the case at the picturesque Calistoga Speedway, which sits in the heart of California wine country, a track the Bad Boy Buggies/Chevrolet Performance team has extensive notes on. Schatz is a two-time winner on the sprawling semi-banked, half-mile dirt oval where speed is a major part of the outcome.

By Joshua Joiner, WoO LMS PR

WHEEL, Tenn. – April 8, 2015 – With forecasts predicting more rain to fall on an already heavily saturated racetrack, Duck River Raceway Park officials have cancelled this Friday’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at the Middle Tennessee dirt oval. Saturday’s WoO LMS event at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway will be ran as scheduled.

Duck River track owner Bob Harris informed WoO LMS officials that rain every day this week has left the quarter-mile oval and its surrounding facility extremely wet, preventing track workers from preparing the racing surface and facility grounds. With a high probability of rain on Friday, the decision was made by the track to call off the event.
