Kentucky Star Holds Off O’Neal For $12,650 Top Prize At Bubba Raceway Park

OCALA, FL – Feb. 16, 2014 – Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., ended the Bubba Army Dirt Late Model Winter Nationals on a high note, breaking through to capture Sunday night’s 60-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Super Sunday Showdown’ at Bubba Raceway Park.
Finding the winning touch with his self-designed Club 29 car after top-five finishes in each of the first two events of the weekend, Lanigan passed Don O’Neal of Martinsville, Ind., for the lead on lap seven and controlled the remainder of the distance. The two-time WoO LMS champion turned back a late challenge from O’Neal while racing through lapped traffic to pocket the race’s $12,650 top prize.

BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Feb. 15, 2014 — Donny Schatz , a 23-time event winner in 2013, has picked up where he left off, driving from 11th to victory Saturday in just the second night of the 2014 World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series season.
Schatz powered past leader Cody Darrah on lap 23 and pulled away over the final eight laps to capture victory during the DIRTcar Nationals presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park.
BARBERVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 15, 2014) – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car drivers competing in tonight’s DIRTcar Nationals presented by Summit Racing were quicker and faster than last night and continued to chip away at the existing 12.563-second track record set in 2011 that makes Volusia Speedway Park the world’s fastest half-mile dirt oval.
Joey Saldana drove the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop 71M to a solid 12.961-second lap, placing him third in the qualifying order and making him one of only three drivers in the sub 13-second category.
BARBERVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2014) – The Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop 71M Sprint Car driven by Joey Saldana has been quick and fast ever since the team unloaded it at Volusia Speedway Park Tuesday, Feb. 11 at the open practice session.
Team spirit was high for the opening night of World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car competition following Saldana’s wire to wire victory last night in the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions event.
BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Feb. 16, 2014 — Steve Kinser took his first win of the season in exciting fashion after taking the lead for the first time on lap 5 from Daryn Pittman. Pittman fired back on lap 23 to take the lead after a late race restart. Saturday’s winner Donny Schatz finish third with Friday night winner Brad Sweet taking four and Tim Kaeding rounding out the top five.
