SALDANA PLANS TO STAND TALL AT BOOT HILL SHOWDOWN DOUBLEHEADER

SALDANA PLANS TO STAND TALL AT BOOT HILL SHOWDOWN DOUBLEHEADER

DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 4, 2013) – Five-time Boot Hill Showdown winner Joey Saldana will be looking to put another notch in the win column when the World of Outlaws stops in Dodge City July 5-6 for a Showdown doubleheader.

It makes perfect sense that Dodge City, a town well-known for famous and infamous gunfighters like Doc Holliday and lawmen like Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson, would host the most famous and infamous World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car drivers for a four- wheeled test of the best on dirt.  These Outlaws don’t depend on their quick draws to defeat their competitors, but they do depend on quick times, and like the gunfighters of old, they engage in passionate fights on the dirt.

Kraig Kinser Finishes Ninth at LaSalle; Perseveres at Beaver Dam & Cedar Lake

By Kraig Kinser Racing PR

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—July 1, 2013 — Carrying momentum from a pair of fifth-place finishes with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series at River Cities Speedway in North Dakota, and I-94 Speedway in Minnesota, Kraig Kinser had high hopes heading into the three events this past weekend. The trio of races started on a strong note for the native of Bloomington, Ind., as he came home ninth at LaSalle Speedway in Illinois, but didn’t quite end how he would have liked, as he was caught up in other driver’s accidents at both Beaver Dam (Wis.) and Cedar Lake (Wis.) Speedway. On the positive side, his crew was able to make repairs after each of those incidents and he got back out on the track to finish the two races in the Casey’s General Store/Mesilla Valley Transportation Maxim.

Schatz Wins World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Thriller in Dodge City

Series champ makes winning pass in final corner of Boot Hill Showdown opener

DODGE CITY, Kan. – July 5, 2013 – Jason Sides was aiming for his first victory of the season on Friday night at Dodge City Raceway Park, but Donny Schatz caught him coming off of the final corner and the two raced side-by-side to the checkered flag with Schatz surging ahead just enough to earn his eighth World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series win this season.

Changing conditions throughout the opening night of the Boot Hill Showdown, with stiff winds kicking up during the A-main, added challenges to drivers and crews when choosing tire compounds, and then how to manage them. Chad Kemenah ran out to a quick lead over the first five laps before Sides moved to the top spot and took control.

Sides led until a restart with 27 laps complete gave Schatz one final chance in his STP/Armor All J&J, and he took advantage. With Sides’ right rear tire wearing down, Schatz was able to hold his line on the bottom and when Sides drifted up the track just enough in turn four, he forced the drag race to the finish where Schatz earned the victory as Sides, Kraig Kinser, Kemenah and Daryn Pittman rounded out the top five.
