Jim Boyd Memorial Victory at Beaver Dam!

Following a podium finish in Illinois on Friday, World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series action headed to Wisconsin the next night as the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team prepared for the 4th Annual Jim Boyd Memorial.  A well-known man who was instrumental in bringing the Outlaws to the Upper Midwest, ‘JB’ was also a long-time supporter of Craig Dollansky who has an outstanding track record of 12 top-fives in his 16 appearances at the Beaver Dam Raceway.

WITH 13TH PLACE FINISH IN A-MAIN

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (June 29, 2013) – After a weather delay, round two of a three-in-a-row race weekend for the World of Outlaws got underway at Beaver Dam Raceway.

Joey Saldana, a four-time winner at this facility, was looking to add a fifth victory to his resume.

Strong Podium Performance at LaSalle

A trio of races was on tap for the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team as they got the weekend action underway on Friday at LaSalle Speedway in Illinois.  With the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars back at the high-banked ¼-mile for the first time since 2010, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ aimed to extend a stretch of eight straight top-ten finishes.

After a late draw in qualifying yielded the 15th fastest time among the 32 drivers, Dollansky started on the pole of heat three and raced to the checkered flag in 2nd behind Tim Kaeding to earn a spot in the dash.  In the 6-lap dash the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim started ninth on the grid and finished 8th.

TUMULTUOUS NIGHT OF RACING AT LASALLE SPEEDWAY;

SALDANA FINISHES 13TH

LASALLE, Ill. (June 28, 2013) – The World of Outlaws began a trilogy of weekend events tonight. First stop: LaSalle Speedway.  Joey Saldana was the most recent winner of this race, having been victorious when the Outlaws raced here last in 2010.

Saldana likes the quarter-mile high banked clay oval and was looking forward to the intense competition of a night of racing with the Outlaws.

In qualifying, the second generation driver turned his quickest lap in 10.467 seconds, placing him seventh in the qualifying order.

Craig Dollansky Captures Emotional Victory at Beaver Dam

Earns his fifth World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series win of the year

BEAVER DAM, Wis. – June 29, 2013 – For the second time in his career, Craig Dollansky captured a World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series victory at Beaver Dam Raceway, winning the Jim Boyd Memorial on Saturday night.

Polesitter Cody Darrah jumped out to an early lead before yielding to Dollansky on lap 14. Dollansky led the next three laps before Daryn Pittman surged to the front. Dollansky moved back around Pittman on lap 19 and led rest of the 40-lap feature event for the $10,000 victory.

Pittman was second with Tim Kaeding, Donny Schatz and Paul McMahan rounding out the top five.

“This is the Jim Boyd Memorial and he was Scott Boyd’s father,” said Dollansky, who is long-time friends of the Boyd family. “You know that family supported me for a long time, they owned the team that I raced for 10 years and Jim Boyd was just a great person and an inspiration for me and an awesome individual. He passed away a few years back. He’s gone but not forgotten and I know he was riding around with me tonight in spirit.”
