The World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series continued its annual Gold Rush Tour with three nights of racing in Washington and Oregon during the Labor Day weekend. Tony Stewart Racing’s (TSR) Steve Kinser maintained his surge following the Knoxville Nationals by earning three top-three finishes while his TSR teammate Donny Schatz finished the weekend with a pair of top-fives. The TSR tandem raced at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., on Friday and Saturday and then on Monday evening made its yearly stop at Cottage Grove (Ore.) Speedway.

A Golden Opportunity: Kraig Kinser Heads to the 58th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions & Antioch Speedway
Granger, IA—Sept. 7, 2011—There are a handful of crown jewel events that every sprint car driver yearns to win during their career. For Kraig Kinser, he was able to check off of those off the list in 2005, claiming the Knoxville Nationals. The third generation driver would like nothing more than to add his name to the list of drivers that have won both that event and the Gold Cup Race of Champions.
Déjà vu: Kraig Kinser Victorious over Steve Kinser at Cottage Grove Speedway
Cottage Grove, Ore.—Sept. 5, 2011—Kraig Kinser has raced against his father Steve plenty of times over the years, and one of the most memorable races for the pair came at Cottage Grove (Ore.) Speedway in 2004, as the younger Kinser picked up his first career World of Outlaws A-Feature win, passing his dad in that event. History repeated itself again on Monday night at the ¼-mile bullring as Kraig battled Steve for the win, getting by him with five laps remaining to score the $10,000 victory.
