Racing in front of his home-state fans on a track he knows well, the rising young star from Fairmont, W.Va., rolled to the biggest win of his career in the 45-lap ‘Sweet Sixteen’ finale of the second annual Black Diamond 125 at Tyler County Speedway.

ALGER. Wash. — Sept. 3, 2011 — Sam Hafertepe Jr. was alongside one of the best in the business Saturday night at Skagit Speedway. Knowing he had to be on top of his game, the Sunnyvale, Tex., maintained his focus and dominated the 40 lap event to pocket his first career World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series win and a $20,000 payday.
