World of Outlaw History: What a year 2017 was for CJB Motorsports and David Gravel. Gravel scored an eye-opening 18 wins during the season and also became the first driver in 25 years to score a perfect score at the Knoxville Nationals. With all the pieces returning for 2018, it’s a championship or bust feeling out of the CJB camp.
In 2016, David Gravel competed full-time with CJB Motorsports. He had his best season with the Outlaws, improving from a winless season to taking nine more checkered flags and earning 36 more top-five performances.
Gravel is the 2013 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year. The young driver has made select starts with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series since 2008. He scored his first series win in 2011 at the Talladega (AL) Short Track.
He joined Roth Motorsports in the middle of the 2014 season and then transitioned to Destiny Motorsports midway through 2015. In 2016, Gravel competed full-time with CJB Motorsports, as he does again this season.
Previous Racing History: Gravel ran full-time with the All Star Circuit of Champions for three seasons from 2009 to 2012. He finished third in the championship standings in 2009, 2011 and 2012… In 2010, Gravel was named the Knoxville Nationals Rookie of the Year… After winning two United Racing Company (URC) features in 2008, Gravel became the youngest feature winner in the history of the series… Gravel has extensive experience and success in quarter midget racing.
